Our parrots enjoy human interaction as well as interaction with other birds. They like to be greeted when you come into the room. They like to eat at the table and will let you know when it’s dinner time. They are quite content and comfortable to be on a perch and in the company of its humans.

Green-cheeked Parrots

The Blue-fronted Amazon is a mainly green parrot about 38 cm (15 in) long. They have blue feathers on the forehead above the beak and yellow The Red-crowned Parrot – also known as Mexican Red Head Amazon or Green-cheeked Amazon is a native to the lowlands of North-eastern Mexico now very common in the US. Green-cheeked Parrots Amazons are mostly green, with a bright red blaze that extends over their beak and forehead. There is a patch of brilliant blue behind their eyes that trails down the neck in some individuals.

The undersides of the tail feathers are a lime green/yellow, and they have horn-colored beaks and flesh colored legs.About 13 inches in length ,Male-body green, with soft black margins to feathers of nape to mantle and upper breast; dark red forehead, crown and lores; purple/blue band from above the eye down the sides of the neck; at bases of secondary feathers 1-5 is red, the remainder green; green tail. Bill dull yellow. Eye ring pale grey, eye yellow. Female-red less evident on crown.they have Shrill screaming voice usually followed by ascending notes. Chattering also heard, though raspy.n the face and crown. Distribution of blue and yellow varies greatly among individuals.

Unlike most Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot at our Farm , its beak is mostly black.As a pet, the blue-fronted amazon may bond with one person exclusively, if it has been hand-raised and hand fed from a baby. If this bird is cared for properly and given a balanced and nutritional diet that includes fruits, vegetables, grains and protein, it should have a lifespan of about 50-60 years or more.The blue-fronted amazon becomes sexually mature at about four or five years of age.

These types of parrots generally mate for life, and will choose one partner for a lifetime. A clutch of babies typically consists of one to three. It should be noted that there are certain hazards that need to be avoided.

Like all parrots, the blue-fronted amazon should never be given chocolate or avocado to eat, as it can be toxic or even lethal to them. Teflon or non-stick pots and pans which overheat can also pose a health risk factor and be toxic to pet parrots as well.
